I have discussed the issue about CCW on other threads, and the places that restrict CC. You know, if you do carry in those places, whose going to know if you don't tell, and whose going to care if you are called upon to use it??Also the most restricted places can do is ask you to leave, you wouldn't be breaking any laws if you were carrying legally.
I have a CC gun, but not the permit yet:), that's on my agenda for this summer, after my competitions are over.

I've had that attitude when I worked in places with a stated policy against bringing them to work. There were some occasions, like working late, that I wanted to have it with me from the building to the car.
I will say this, though, that having it at work was more hassle than benefit with it in my purse, and I had constant worry over it if I had to leave my desk, even if I could lock my desk. One of the big rules in CCC is to not leave it unattended. Complete discretion is also vital. No one can know.
As for other restricted areas... I have risked it in bars, but not as a general rule. Breaking company policy is one thing, a criminal gun violation another. I have only risked it in a few circumstances where I didn't like the walk from parking to the bar and back, like in Seattle. You are right that your odds of getting caught in the bar, if you are discreet, are nil.
BTW, I always pack when riding. We can still open carry, and the pistol gets strapped to the saddle.. ;')
