Our old horse high line where we groom and saddle horses was getting pretty tired, and I feared rotted as well, so we put up a new one today... now with three tie spots.
Notice how the pony is 'parking out' in this picture, the way she does any time she's a little bit nervous. And also notice that Homer doesn't have the first clue about horse range safety ;~D

We had 3 dogs run out and bark at us today. 2 of them were getting pretty close to the horses hind legs. Even Tina's horse didn't seem to pay them any mind.

No, they were not together, but both got hit about the same place in the road.
That's good you have those horses used to being tied on the high line. Most horse camps and forests, do not allow tying of horses to trees. At least in this neck of the woods.
LOL....Homer is so cute, I hope his ears are better.
