...Faggots are balls of low quality pork, a kind of 'English haggis', probably intended as a way to make the grossest animal parts seem edible. They are reasonably tasty, if you keep your eyes closed... LOL! Sounds like what we here in the South call "Souse Meat" (pronounced like House). Ask deaconjim, he'll probably know what I'm talking about. My Granny used to make it when they butchered a hog. Like somebody said, it has everything in it but the squeal. They didn't waste anything back then but I refused to eat it. I was a city kid and too spoiled I guess.

I would say it is a cross between a meatball and haggis. They are good and as a kid, I didn't begin to question what was in it!
I make Brunswick stew and James Dad says that its the best he's ever tasted, which is surprising really cause I didn't put the Hogs head in it, that was in the recipe! LOL
I just went back down into the den to have another go at the bike. My patience isn't that good though, so I've locked the door again! : D

When I go to the butcher shop, I pick up "souse". I love it, especially the hot version. It is also called "head cheese". IIRC, they used the stomach pouch to hold the ingredients together.
Do you have a jenny expecting too?
