Dusty foaled tonight at 8:45pm. Had a filly :) The baby was born with one leg bent back and wasn't breathing. Bob had to pull the baby and tear the bag and slap her to get her breathing. While pulling her, he slipped on the placenta that he'd torn and fell, twisting his knee. He couldn't stand or walk, so I got to play nurse to him and the baby. She's not nursed yet but is up and running around. She's a odd color, at first thought she was bay but legs are not black. Then as she dried, she is light around her eyes, on her muzzle, under her legs. There is no greying gene present so don't know what's going on. Anyway, everyone, meet TE Dusty Jax -

Trying to find the right place for dinner -

Congratulations!! What a pretty baby and great news to get up to this morning!

How's Bob doing? I hope his knee is doing better today but I bet he's gonna be some kind of sore.

Be sure and post more pics!

I like her star:) What color was the daddy? Were you trying for a loudly marked app again?

What a pretty baby! How's Bob? I'm glad that filly ended up being ok. (Which isn't to say that I'm glad that Bob got hurt!) ;-)

Congratulations on the pretty foal. What a stressful delivery and painful delivery for Bob!

What a pretty girl! Looks like she'll be a roan like her mother, but maybe a darker chestnut color. Congratulations!

Duchess... I took the liberty of lightening your pics to see can see better what your foal looks like!

I know foals can change a LOT from foal coat to their permanent color, especially those that might roan, but is there sign you can see that she'll roan out? Because if I were to guess, I see no sign of white on this foal, 'cept that cute spot on her face. If she were any other breed I'd guess she'd shed out darker than she is now.

If she did roan out does that alone qualify as color in appy registration?

This scene is adorable. A classic shot of mom and babe.

I don't see a white hair on her, but she is a really rich bay color. I'd think she'd shed out to be like MissTarget's filly.
