This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
WOO HOO! OK - tell us about your mare, because I'm not as familiar with her...
Heck yes! The plant doesn't even have to have leaves on it for you to get it if you're allergic to it, so you can even get it in the dead of winter. All it takes is getting some of the sap on you. You can even get it from touching the the roots or from the smoke if you're burning it.
This poor lady that worked with me broke out in the most awful rash one day and it turned out that she was pulling some roots the day before that were sticking up out of the ground by her swing, never dreaming that they were poison ivy roots. She apparently then rubbed her face and eyes. It was not a pretty sight.
Boy, your grass looks nice Hair! I'll bet the horses are enjoying it.
Pinging my brother. He got into some camping, and I think they burned some in the campfire, he swelled up so bad he couldn't see. Bad thing was, they were on an island, and he was the one who knew how to get home in the boat ;~D "OK - do you see water and pieces of land with trees on it? head towards ummm... well... sortof south."
Yeah - it looks nice now, we'll see how many divots they put in it farting around... The pony trots around too much. Bay seems ill at ease and paces... Cyn is the most businesslike mower we got. She doesn't lift her face out of the grass.
What a pretty mare. Thanks for the picture :)
Your yard looks really nice:) I had Rusty out mowing mine this morning now Harley is out there. I didn't ride long, his shoes are flopping. Farrier coming tomorrow morning. Good timing:)
Becky
Very nice pictures:)

Interesting... I'm glad there is room for charity at your place. I understand, I guess that's why I have my pony.
They aren't exactly being efficient about mowing. They don't eat where I think the grass looks the best. Bay is now eating the nibbles of grass that are coming up in the driveway. I guess looks aren't everything, and I don't know good grass.
Hey - post away, you have a lot of catching up to do! I love your TB mare, very pretty.
Oh dear... I just remembered an ad I read in the paper today... Rescued TB mare, ex racer, free to good home, needs to gain weight. Man o man I wish I had more room and an unlimited budget.
I kicked them out. All that green grass and they want to make mischief instead of eat. Harumph ;~D
Oooh I love Berkely, he's gorgeous!
I'd love to see more donkey pics too... I just think they are really cool.
:) Keep it up, we love pictures. Another beautiful horse. Is the grey mare registered?
Have fun weedeating. :) Thanks again for the pictures.
