This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

There are a lot of southern sayings that I read on here and sometimes have to ask deaconjim the meaning! As for the Waltons........I love watching them. I really couldn't believe it when I came over and saw Real people wearing dungarees (overalls) and checked shirts! LOL Now I have those checked shirts! : D
Habby birthday Hair! Hope you get to ride your horses and relax! Jacobs birthday is on Friday, lots of little 6 year olds to be entertained! Urgh! Hope the weather is good! : )

I have my youngest and his wife and their 2 and 5 y/o here. My middle son just got out of the navy. He and his wife who is 8 months and their 4 y/o. I call us the Waltons. The youngest moving to an apartment in a couple of weeks and the other looking for a job. It gets very noisy around here.. We were going to the lake to get away but John boy and the rest of them want to know if they can come too. I don't think so lol.
Thanks all for the birthday wishes! We're home now... tired... and I still feel like I have sand in my eyes... been two days now, not sure what's up with that!

He got a driver?? that said it was compatible with Windows 98, but after it was loaded, or trying to load or something, it said you have to have the updated windows 98??? All greek to me.
I think he is now trying to fix the old camera.
We're starting to get the severe weather here too now. I think it's going to be a long night.

Sounds like you have a crowd there! Hope you get some relaxation down at the lake without "John boy" and the rest of the Waltons! LOL
I thought it was sweet that Okie got to share his feed today. Thunder and Adge share theirs all the time, they also play a lot and sleep right next to each other. Thunder is losing all his baby hair and is getting very dark in the face. Adge is still very curly around the ears!
I find that if I mess with Lightning first then go in with the foals, they are all over me!
My arm and foot no longer have casts on them! : D My arm still gives me some jib, but my foot is doing fine and I am sure after doing some exercises to get it moving better I will be back to normal.
I must take some more pics of the colts!: )
Hope you do ok in the storm thats heading your way. Are the horses inside?
They could be if they choose to. But the dummies don't like being in the barn, I guess because of the noise, during a storm. Only Rocky will stay inside.

I would like to see pics. They are probably really getting big now. Okie and Sarah Lee get along good. They will walk right beside each other with lead ropes. I just had not seen them share before. It's funny caz when I have them both in the barn they watch each other and me. Big brown eyes watch my every move:')

How is Belle doing, any signs yet? Has she rounded up more?
We've been married five years, have known each other since 1981. They sound very much alike - I leave when Bob gets going like that (swearing and hammering) and find something to do in my office or the barn. :)
I should have added that he knows me well enough to leave when I start house cleaning (I hate a dirty house and he's a slob) he starts saddling horses or cleaning stalls.

Just read your last post, and either he's related to deaconjim or all men are the same! LOL Deaconjim knows to leave, especially if I am cleaning up after him because his family are coming! LOL
