Cool - they've bonded.

It'll be really interesting to see what color she sheds out, and if the leg marking stays unusual. It doesn't look all that unusual to me, but it's hard to see in the pics. When you're out, take some more! For a bay, she's very mocha-chocolate colored, as opposed to the more common red color like ours and I'm curious what color she's gonna end up.

How's your weather today?

Is the baby's leg ok?

Her color is very odd but I'm thinking it's just the foal hair and she'll shed out more normal. I've just never seen the black markings like that is on her legs.

Her legs seem to be fine, although her shoulders are still back too far. That should straighten out though.

Well I think she is very pretty. Her ears seem different than Tuffys though (who is gorgeous too).

Thank you - her ears turn in at the top :) and I don't know why that is either.

She wasn't lined up . Maybe they were pinned and will straighten out. If not, I like them though. Have you seen other horses with ears like this?

Congratulations on your filly! She's a beauty. Those ears remind me of an American Saddlebred's. Tuffy is really growing. There was snow in the Smokies also on Saturday. The road was closed to Cherokee, and we had to go the long way to the casino.

The cabin was absolutely gorgeous! Everything you could possibly want. I was concerned being a one bedroom, but it was huge. The mile long climb, up the mountain, on a narrow road got a little scary. Had to put the 4x4 drive in once, when it was wet. Here you can see how steep the drive was.

Congraulations on your new filly. She is beautiful. The mare is nice too. I love the pic with the Boston Terrier. My neighbors have 3, and they are the sweetest dogs.

Oh wow. That sounds neat.
Oh by the way. The horses belonging to a friend of mine have both come down with something very similar to what you think that Okie had, and they can't figure out what it is. The Arab has it the worst, if not something all together different. The other day the poor thing broke out in hives with huge swellings under his "armpits" It seems to have spread to others in the barn. They put him on huge doses of steriods and ABs. The arab/appy cross had a fever with lots of green snot coming out of his nose.

And the old man "John Henry" He's 30 years old. At the Kentucky Horse Park. Not a good shot. The handler moved him so fast.

Hooray thank you. I saw him in his stall, and got to see more of his butt than his face! :-)

That was in reply to the cigar post. How did you like the Horse Park? It was off season when I went, so there wasn't much in the gift shop or anything, and there weren't really any events like the horse handling, but there were horses, and that's all that matters!

My trainer and I don't believe this is Rhino. Horses are getting sick whether they were innoculated or not. All start recovering with antibiotics but it's taking a long time to get their strength back. I wormed them today and the vet coming out next week to immz them again. The owner thinks this is a bad cold or just some kind of resp. bug going around. I just don't think it is viral though .

Those poor horses. Let me know what they find out, ok? Okie physically better but still doesn't have his energy back and picky with his food but he does put his head down now. I question that he walks steady too. It's like his lower left back leg a little wobbly . Eddie got behind him and couldn't see what I thought I was seeing so maybe nothing though.

It was great! So many new things to see. We didn't get there until 1 and they close at 5. That was my third trip there. The parade of breeds had a Fresian, Paint, Morgan, Andalusian, and a Haflinger. The parade of Champions had a 5-gaited Saddlebred and a Standardbred too. I asked about the horse "I can Two Step Two, the one in the movie "Seabiscuit", but he had to be put to sleep because of a tumor. I went over board in the gift shop too..lol

This statue of Secretariat was new and so cool.
