This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Yeah. I'm ok. She shouldn't have got fidgety and I should have been more careful where I was standing. Barn distractions:')
The round pen gate at my place looks like an accident waiting to happen area. I have taught mine to stand until I'm completely thru. Even the wide gates. I won't let them come in until I'm completely thru with the lead rope. Took some time but so far they have been really good waiting their turn and know I go thru first.
When we had the evil cow we carried a pvc pipe.
A friend of a friend asked to use my "Loo" once... and I just blinked at her wondering if I even owned one ;~D
Just imagine how hard it would be if we didn't speak the same language! ;~D
check out the food section and you will see sarnies and chip buttys right there, as well as spotted dick! LOL
I heard on the radio we have a cold front coming in. I'm driving to Austin tomorrow afternoon. Hope the weather isn't bad.
I asked for the "Loo" at the airport! Everyone just looked blank until I wiggled and said I had to "GO" NOW!

thought you might, When I first got here, shopping was an experience let me tell you! Everyone liked to hear me talk, but we couldn't understand each other! LOL
Deaconjim and I still, at least once every week, have to explain something that the other has said! When we are out, he acts as my translator!

you are so bad! One thing good about the language difference is that I have been able to swear at people, in the nicest of voices, and they don't know I am swearing at them! LOL
I told Emma off for using one slang word, and deaconjim said Why? What does it mean, you call me that all the time! OOPS! : D

I just ordered the book and also one for my friend who loves all things British. She watches BBC and phones me ask me to translate what is being said! LOL
