I liked Scooter Girl. I also liked Opera Girl from this year's auditions. But their singing style wasn't fitting for this kind of competition, especially Opera Girl. Simon can't stand Britney Spears. He's not looking for a pop tart, but a pop

Didn't know there would be a thread tonight. It was band practice night so I didn't see any TV.
But I had to chime in on a few things.
1) Scooter girl rocks!
2) Opera Girl had an outstanding voice. Too bad she didn't make it into the top 20. (10 guys, 10 girls)
3) Someone was commenting about Bo singing rock and Carrie singing country. Those are pretty much stereo-types of their styles, but both have shown that can sing most styles.
Carrie's best tune was the Rock ballad by Heart, "Alone."
Bo did the song last night without the band and that wasn't as well as the Elton John song which showed me that he wasn't just a rock band front man type.
Besides, even if you call him a rocker (which he is in spirit), what's wrong with having an American Idol rocker?
Isn't "rock" an American music? Fantasia, Ruben and Kelly are anything BUT rock. That makes this year better as far as I'm concerned.

I would liked to ahve seen what if anything she could have done with various songs.
