While Carrie wasn't great on the second song, she did a fine job on her first--especially considering it was a Dixie Chicks song (vomit). I take nothing for granted, but I believe she'll survive tonight. Vonzelle, though, turned off a lot of people with her waterworks. It didn't seem genuine to me at all. It seemed like manipulation.
Vonzelle falls tonight.
I thought the lower-register stuff on the Dixie Chicks song was muddy and dull. I've also heard better AI versions of that song (didn't Carrie do this -- well -- during the first Hollywood phase?).

Personally, I thought Carrie's "interview" segment, where she tears up about missing her family looked fake -- the smile comes back a fraction of a second before the camera breaks away, which looked to me like she was pleased with her acting job.
I think Carrie has shown poor song selection, and seems to be coasting on the fact that she's the popular, pretty blonde girl, rather than actually trying to win this on talent.
I know... which should make it easier to try and throw in the one-off witty comments, but I'm still rationing myself so I'll have some for future weeks. ;)
