Thanks for the extra info about Kelly. I didn't know all of that. Krystina (my youngest at 17), has both albums, but I confess that I haven't listened to them.

She says her concerts are energetic and fun and she seems to really appreciate her fans.

The first concert cost us 20.00 per ticket and this one is 45.00 for the same venue. So I guess she's doing pretty well.

I'm glad to pay it especially since you told me about the cross on her wrist.

The first album, Thankful, is only fair. It has four pretty good songs on it. But the second album, Breakaway, is excellent and is a big hit. Kelly does all the vocals on the entire CD. There are no backup singers. It's an amazing vocal tour de force.

There's only one song on it I don't like -- and my dislike is from an adult woman's point of view. It's called "I hate myself for losing you." The tune is OK and Kelly sings it beautifully, but the lyrics are terrible, in my opinion. Not dirty or anything, just so darkly harsh on a girl for losing a guy. We adults know that every relationship is a two-way street, but young girls may not fully realize that. Here's the lyrics so you can judge for yourself:

I woke up today
Woke up wide awake
In an empty bed
Staring at an empty room
I have myself to blame
For the state I’m in today
And now dying doesn’t seem so cruel
And oh, I don’t know what to say
And I don’t know anyway, anymore

I hate myself for losing you
I’m seeing it all so clear
I hate myself for losing you
What do you do when you look in the mirror
And staring at you is why he’s not here

You got what you deserved
Hope you’re happy now
‘Cause every time I think of both of you
It’s killing me inside
And now I dread each day
Knowing that I can’t be saved
From the loneliness of living without you
And oh, I don’t know what to
Not sure that I’ll pull through
I wish you knew

I hate myself for losing you
And oh, I don’t know what to do
Not sure that I’ll pull through
I wish you knew, I wish you knew
And oh, I don’t know what to say
And I don’t know anyway, anymore
No, no

What do you say, when everything you said
Is the reason why he left you in the end
How do you cry when every day you said
Don’t ever bring him back again
