Found this on the web...it pretty much say it all...
"Dr. Gregory House is a brilliant infectious disease specialist who would much prefer that diseases could be treated without the annoying complication of having patients attached to them.
House, ably played by Hugh Laurie, walks with a cane and a limp. In the first episode we learned that he was poorly treated by an incompetent (but probably nice and warm) doctor for a leg problem. Now House has to pop pain pills like Chiclets."
Poor guy! He needs some TLC! Maybe from a pretty nurse? (!)
Medical shows have come a long way since Dr. Kildare in the 60's. Neither would Ben Casey be a pill-popper, and in that era, doctors didn't make mistakes! At least modern medical shows are portraying physicians with all their warts and failures.
Wow. Dr House and I have something in common!
I didn't mind the patients being attached to my job, but I do have a shattered ankle that wasn't properly treated and I use a forearm crutch.
(I don't take pills though.....)
Maybe Dr House is my dream man......(sigh)
