Good day, jonny. You're right. The show was very strange last night. No question in my mind Paula was three sheets to the wind. Drugs? Alcohol? Who knows. Her upper body movements were stiff. It almost seemed like it hurt her to turn her head naturally. So, to be charitable, maybe she has some pain in her back or neck and took something stronger than asperin or Tylenol for it.
As for the performances, it's probably easier to point out the best than the worst, since only two or three were any good.
Carrie did fine, as usual. The only thing I'd pick on about her is that I wish she'd learn to be less wooden on stage.
Vonzelle is the one performer who continues to improve. I thought she was good last night. A little sharp, here and there, but good overall.
After those two, as much as I don't like admitting it, I think Constantine was the best of the guys last night. Actually got to hear his singing voice last night (vs. his pretend rocker voice), and it wasn't bad at all.
The rest all threw in clunkers last night, in my opinion. However, I don't quite get why Simon keeps ragging on Anthony so harshly. Anthony has a voice, even though it's untrained. He's a cute guy with potential, nowhere near as bad as Simon keeps making him out to be.
In my opinion, I think Nikko is consistently far worse. I just cannot stand that kind of high-pitched, nearly tuneless, nearly falsetto kind of singing. Anwar does it all the time, plus his singing is nasal. Scott tried it last night and sounded bloody awful. I think he was rising in the competition and hurt himself badly with that performance last night.
Who do I want to go tonight? Nikko. Who do I think will go? Anthony, Scott, Jessica or Nadia.
At this point, I think the top two are Carrie and Bo. Because so many of the pre-teen and teenage girls love Constantine, he'll probably make it to the top three. After that, it's anybody's guess what will happen.
I agree 100%. Nikko is consistently weak. He's been able to skate by so far, I think, because Mikalah was much worse. Now that she's gone, there's nowhere for him to hide.
Scott and Bo were big disappointments last night. But Scott suffered the most because he already has that image problem. He may go home tonight :(
But so many of last night's performances were bad (or at best mediocre) that it's a toss-up. Nobody's safe, except of course Carrie--and Vonzelle, she was surprisingly good and may have saved herself this week.
Tonight's show should be very interesting!
