Yep. She just finished her first solo U.S. tour, and then went to the U.K. to do promos for the release of "Breakaway" over there. She could easily have decided to take some time off, but she went to entertain our troops instead. So far, Kelly has not been spoiled by fame and success.
Thanks for sharing that photo :) Kelly looks healthy and relaxed. God bless her for going to see the troops.
I remember you saying so, and that you thought she looked "fat." As a straight woman, I'm the first to admit that, while she's certainly a cute girl, Kelly isn't a great beauty. But heck, of the 6 billion or so of us on the planet, only a very few have movie star looks. I relate to Kelly because of her musical talent, the hard work she's putting into her career and, so far at least, the kind of person she is.
However, I fully understand that straight guys look for, ummmm, other assets in a woman. ;-)
You're welcome. On the album front, there are four big new releases this week. It's interesting watching the numbers come in. As I recall, last year the big albums were released in spring and summer. If the same holds true this year, then an October release for Bo's album would be smart. I still haven't heard any projected release date for Carrie's album. Maybe I'll go look on some of her fan sites today to see if there's any news.
sorry for the double post. didn't notice my pinglist mysteriously disappeared during various adjustments to the widths of those pics.
GSC, thanks for the heads up on the release of Carrie's single, and for the photos. If the single opens big, it's possible we will see Carrie's first Billboard appearance on Thursday. I'll continue to keep you updated on chart happenings.
To give you a point of contrast, the #1 song in radio play is Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl." It had 9,325 spins in the last seven days. That was down from 9,575 last week.
The #2 song, Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" had 8,701, up from 7,956 last week.
And the #3 song, Kelly Clarkson's "Behind These Hazel Eyes" had 8,159 spins, up from 7,534 last week.
While number of radio spins is not necessarily a reflection of sales, radio play definitely helps drive sales -- and, to a lesser degree, vice versa.
If Carrie's single opens strongly on the Billboard charts, we should see her radio play rise, although the two stats never totally track equally.
Meanwhile, on the Hits Daily Double chart, although the final numbers won't be in until a little later today, it looks like the AI4 group album has dropped out of the top 50. As I mentioned last week, it was dropping like a stone. We'll know in a few more days how its weak sales have affected Carrie (if at all). Her cover of "Independence Day" is on side B of the single AND on the group album.
Of the top women Carrie will soon be competing against in sales and airplay, Mariah Carey is in #5 with a -8% drop in sales. Gwen Stefani is #7 with a -15% drop, and Kelly Clarkson is in #10 with a -7% drop.
The AI4 album managed to barely hang onto a top 50 spot. It's in #48, all the way down from #25 last week. It had a massive -46% sales drop. Will the release of Carrie's single help boost sales for it, or will the album drag her down? We may begin to get some of the answers on Thursday.
Did you happen to notice anything on Bo? Just wondering. Thanks.

Hi, Emily. Sorry to be a little late in responding to you. Bo is #2 on People Magazine's new "Hottest Batchelors 2005" list, out in the current issue. (Tom Cruise is #1.) Here's a link to People's web page about Bo.
As for radio airplay for Bo's version of the "In Your Heaven" single, it's not getting much for several reasons. First, the single was thrown together in a hurry almost as an afterthought. In past seasons only the AI winner got to release the winner's single. But Bo was so popular by the end of the season, that the producers wanted to scrape in what bucks they could off him. However, they aren't promoting his single as much as they are Carrie's version.
Second, the song simply is not suited to Bo's musical style. His fans adore him, but don't like the song. Those that plan to buy the single actually will because of his cover of "Vehicle," which is side B, or simply because they want to support him. But most are waiting for his first album.
Third, Amazon has his version at #1 on their hit predictor list, based on pre-sale orders. Carrie's version was released today, and his will be released next week. As mentioned, we will soon see how strong Carrie's actual sales numbers are, and that might give us a read on how realistic the pre-sale hit predictions are or are not.
Lastly, Bo has said he hopes to have his first album out by October. That's an aggressive schedule, given that he will be on the AI summer tour. However, he may already have a pretty good idea of the material he wants to include. Coming up with material takes a lot of time.
Because I personally am more interested in Bo than Carrie, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on his career and will report interesting stuff here as long as somebody out there is interested.
Will it be on her album and will it be the same version? I want the clean or studio version, not the one from the end of the show.
Thanks for any info you have and thanks for keeping us updated.
Thank you! Hottest bachelor? Love him but not seeing that. Hope it doesn't upset the girlfriend. I was glad he didn't win so he wouldn't have to sing the "Inside your heaven" song. I hated it, but oh well. Thanks again!
Nice! I like the middle pic the best--the "come hither" look :)
I completely forgot Carrie's single is out this week--hope that's not a bad sign. I'll try to buy it today.
But I won't be buying Bo's. As you said, his single seems like an afterthought. The cover photo is outdated (no beard!) and the two songs aren't very interesting, IMO. "Inside Your Heaven" sounds much better coming from Carrie, but of course, it was intended for her, not Bo. And "Vehicle"! I haven't heard that song in a month and I'm still sick of it.
I thought for sure you were on my pinglist for this post I made: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1363125/posts?page=10607#10607
You can listen there, unless AOL has taken it down.
Although I can't say for absolute certain, it will probably be the studio version. The way AI has always done it in the past is that the last three or four contestants all record the winner's song in advance of the finals. Then, when a winner is chosen, the studio version recorded in advance of the finals is released.
As for whether or not it will be on her album, it depends on how successful the single is -- and over how much control Carrie will have over the material that goes on the album. The main reason for releasing a single at all between the end of the season and the release of the winner's album is to keep the winner's name out there until the album is ready. It also capitalizes on the recent memory of the finals to make whatever bucks off the winner they can, as fast as they can.
