I was watching a movie with Betty Grable and another with a huge Busby Berkley dance number. I realized very quickly that NONE of these women would have been employable in Hollywood today unless they lost at least 40 to 50 lbs.
How sad.

"AH! Back in my Bad Ole Daze!"I'm glad to see that it wasn't only me thinking that.
How did we survive?
The adage "I rather be lucky than good" comes to my mind. ;)

The answer is easy.
The standards of female beauty in the arts and media are dictated by male fashion designers, art directors, choreographers, etc.
These men are not like normal men. They are almost universally queer, and a large majority are hebephiles (perverts who are sexually attracted to teenagers.)
They want their women to look like adolescent boys because that is what they consider most beautiful.

Never quite thought of that. Interesting insight, and likely true.

I disagree. You're absolutely right that all the fashion designers, art directors, choreographers are gay men, but any market is dictated by the consumer. It's the women who buy into this fashion scam that are to blame. How many times have you told your wife that she looks beautiful without makeup? Did she listen?
