There are things I just cannot bring myself to eat because I think they are gross. There are things I won't eat because I don't like them. Then there are the things that I have never tried.
That is nothign compared to my kiddo. His food has to be beige, and non-sticky or messy. A peanut butter sandwich is good because the peanut butter is encased in the bread. Nice and neat. Jelly is a no-no because it leaks.
It really has nothing to do with flavor for him. I was about mortified when we mooted with wneighbor. She fixed him a "tostada" - tortilla with ground beef, and shredded cheese. He refused to even try it, and made a face and spit it out onto his plate before it touched his tongue. The only item he had never tried on it was the beef. He ended up going without dinner. I felt horrible about it.
I've seen a lot of kids who seem to never want to eat. I don't know how they grow on practically no fuel, but they seem to! Maybe it's just a bad phase.
