Good evening!

I want some pinto beans! I guess I oughta cook some up.

Got a slow-cooker...any idea how I should go about it?

You want 'em now?

I don't have a slow cooker. I just soak them overnight, or I soak them while I'm at work. I drain them in the collander. Then I simmer them with some salt and some fat-back - bacon will do...or some bacon grease. Or you could just skip the fat (but it won't taste as good.) Simmer for about an hour or until tender. I like to add chopped onion for the last 10 or 15 minutes or so.
