In Media Player, try right-clicking the file name in the "Now Playing" section, and see if it gives you the option to view the error details.Short version: did that, got this.
"The codec you are missing is not available for download from this site. You might be able to find it on another site by searching the Web for "VGPX" (this is the WaveFormat or FourCC identifier of the codec)."

There you go... AVI files can have different resolutions/recording rates/etc. that aren't all compatible with all codecs. The one that won't play just needs its special codec.
