You are over 40? You said that women over 40 want more details???? OK. Here goes:
First off, I should say that I'm a 44 year old male, divorced 3 years ago. I never cheated on her, though I had ample opportunities as a part-time traveling musician. ;-) That's another subject, but could some WOMAN tell me why some women LOVE to jump into the sack for one night stands with musicians (don't even have to be famous) and traveling salesmen (I've been a traveling salesman too)?
OK, why do men want YOUNGER WOMEN! That is SO SIMPLE to explain. It really is two-fold:
1. Simple genetics - despite all of our religions, philosophies, societies and higher cultures, human beings are, well, ANIMALS. Yes, we are animals. Like it or not, we are animals and have "self-perpetuating the species" kind of animal instints. It is a rather recent phenomenon that older women are having children later in life, due to possible nutritional changes (hormones in milk, etc.) and of course our societal change with more women pursuing careers and delaying child bearing - thanks be to birth control devices and meds! Somebody said that older men are PERVERTS for being attracted to younger women. I guess that she meant 40 somethings like me being attracted to the 25 - 35 gals, etc. Well it is worse than that woman thinks. We 40 something men are attracted to attractive females as young as they come, down to the age of when the teenage gal is of the age of ability to conceive. Our society forbids that, so of course most of us normal men are not going to go after 13 year old girls, though some "PERVERTS" do. Our society forbids it, but it is pretty commonplace in other societies, and in our not so recent past, to take wives that are 12-16 years old. Our society forbids it primarily because our society has evolved an educational system that takes children through high school to age 17 or 18 - we say that an 18 year old is an adult. In the past that wouldn't leave much time, because in the year 1800 the average life expectance was 39 and as recently as the year 1900 the average life expectancy was 49. A lot of people don't know those FACTS about life expectancy. OK, back to basics: Men are attracted to women that are most likely to be HEALTHY enough to bear a child - that means YOUNG WOMEN. Modern medicine makes it more likely to have a successful birth at an older age, but the GENES don't know that! So, number one is simple genetics - we are attracted to women that can perpetuate our genetic line.
2. We want younger women because they don't say, "Not now I have a headache" so often. This could really be an extension of number 1 above. Most women have sexual desire, but not all. Sexual desire for most women seems to diminish over time and/or women become more clever with thier use of SEX AS A TOOL over men in their lives. A healthy male will have sexual desire even into his 80s or 90s, be producing sperm, etc. The desire for sex IS STRONGER IN MEN THAN WOMEN - believe it! Trust that fact! I don't care what cosmo or some psychobabblist wants to say on this subject, it is a fact that MEN think about sex much more often than women - it is in their nature! Older women that want to keep their man need to understand that if they do not please their man sexually, and OFTEN, their man is likely to stray, for it is in their nature. A man feels LOVED and APPRECIATED when their wife (or girlfriend) WANTS to make Love to them. When a man feels as if it is a CHORE to get their woman to make Love to them, then the man's desire to please their woman in other areas of life WILL (not maybe) diminish. He wonders why he should work so hard. He wonders if she is seeing another man. He wonders why he got married if he can't even make love to his wife????
---- SEX is NOT an option for most normal, healthy males. It is the strongest desire in a man. With a good woman it becomes a powerful motivating force that drives him to greatness - with a bad woman it becomes the drive that will likely destroy him.

I agree with most everything you put forth and it should be noted that men have a keen eye and ear(you can hear age or feigning of age) for women over 21 and especially for women over 35 working to achieve the look of someone 10 or more years younger. We can see it and while you may look pretty good, the attempt is evident and off-putting. No one wants to see a 40 year old prancing around in the latest youth fashions like her teenage daughter. Even worse is when the voice inflection and vocabulary reflects those sentiments.
I have in my profession been in contact with women of all ages and girls ages 14-18. Without a doubt, if I removed context and placed these young women in a bar, I could not tell the difference between most 16-18 year old girls and those women who are 19-23. I think some women are late bloomers and continue maturation until age 23. The only differences in that time period, most times, are individual fluctuations in weight, skin tone (tanning) and hair. There are also plenty of 15 year olds who would pass for 18-20.
The point of all of that is not to sound like a "pervert" but to ilustrate that women do not change much (for 10 years) in outward physiology after they bloom (14-18). Belive me... I'd say that when they arrive at 25, they either start to show attractive maturation if they eat a well balanced diet, avoid overexposure to the sun and stay fit OR they start to show more age.
Most females I've seen in singles postings who are 27-30, look a few years older than me. Maybe it's false advertising or maybe not, but their faces and limbs start to look more masculine. Maybe it is false advertising. I have worked with many women aged 27-32 whom I consider at the appex of attractiveness.
We have set the parameters for physical attractiveness and base primitive instincts. What about attitudes towards the opposite sex?
How do women under 24-25 differ from those older? To me they are more laid back and less cranky, but they are also more prone to be lead by their emotions.
