I like the images you convey. They are very fluid and restful.

You evoke a distant time of charm and magic. I think this could easily be made into a charming story -- like a positive Hansel and Gretel fable.

But -

Poetically, I am a slave to structure. Many enjoy this form of poetry, but I believe they are seeking the freedom of poetic form without the requirements of prosaic plot elements and other restrictions.

If the words can flow in a mesmerizing way, painting a calm, reflective image gradually, I think it could make a very effective form. -- That would require more length, more detail, more magic, but not necessarily structured rhyming.

Bob

Very nice prose. I write some prose but I am addicted to rhyme!

Yeah, most poems I write turn out in free-verse form, and don't involve rhyming or a set rhythm.

Thanks for the feedback! :)

LOL! We all need our morning fix. For me, it's tic-tacs. I'm not awake 'til I've had one. (Yep, I'm addicted to tic-tacs. Thankfully they're cheap. :] )

Thanks for your comments!

Woke up, fell out of bed.
Dragged a comb, across my head.
Found my way downstairs,
And drank a cup.
Looking up, I noticed I was late, hah hah hah.
Found my coat, and grabbed my hat.
Made the bus, in seconds flat.

Found my way upstairs and had a smoke.
Somebody spoke and I wnet into a dream.

I loved math: alebra, geometry, trig, calculus and hated chemistry.

This is gonna sound bad, but one of the activities in school that I loathe is ... poetry analysis. *hangs head in same* I am so bad.

Poetry analysis sounds dumb to me. Poetry is art and as such is seen differently by different people, including the poet. As you know I write a lot of lyrical poems. Some are light in nature and others have deep meaning presented in a casual way. Some people love my poems some people hate them. I love my poems or I would bother writing them.

Art is for the artist. If the viewer or reader likes it too, great.

I think so, too. I'm also a painter; I work with the image I'm painting until I think it looks good. If somebody else likes it, yay. If they like it after I'm dead, double yay. ^_^
