Falcarinol is toxic in large amounts - but to obtain a lethal dose you would have to eat 400 kilograms of carrots at once. That is 881.85 lbs of carrots in one sitting. I will keep this warning in mind if I ever go "carrot happy".

I happen to love raw carrots, eat'em all the time (my dog considers them a delicacy as well). For the first time in awhile, not since the good news on the benefits of red wine, have I managed to please the health food advocates.
Carrots and red wine ... sounds good to me!

eat at least five portions of different fruits and vegetables each day I know that's what "they" say, but how on earth can you eat that much. Maybe it depends on what is considered a "portion" size. Any thoughts?
