Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I had a neighbor once that was deathly afraid of mice. Once day she was cleaning out the garage and went to pick up a sack of old cee-ment powder stuff. About 9 jillion little mice went running and so did my neighbor. It was a riot.

Does that mean I'll get even more freckles???
WE have two keyboards, they are remote ones for the WebTV, so they lay around in places where they are apt to get stuff spilled and dropped in them. A while back JP knocked over a can of pop on this one. It quit working all together for awhile, and we quit using it. This morning the other one kicked the bucket so I got this one out to see if it was working yet and it did, but the keys were like they had partially dried glue under all them. I don't know what the matter is with the other one, but did this one, it needed the pop cleaned out.
I'm surprised it works at all.

deaconjim would have been choosing the wood, ornaments and head stone for me.............. Urgh! I am SO afraid of mice and snakes. I'm usually so rational about things, but when a mouse, dead or alive is near I scream and freak and scream some more just like the on the movies! Argh!

I think, but I'm not sure, that keeping grays out of the sun, stall them, slows down the freckeling. But it's going to happen eventually. How old is your horse?

My neighbor was halfway down the street before we got her stopped.
You don't like mice or snakes because they are so friggin' gross. My husband took the kids to the Sweetwater rattlesnake roundup this past weekend. They have this big pit full of rattlesnakes and my husband said the stench was unbelievable. I didn't think snakes had an odor.
