*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

So does my cat. Now he's jumping on my desk and sticking his butt in my face. Why do cats do that??

I don't like onion breath either but I'll put up with it for onions on my barbecue.

James is a big sucker for kids candy...........if the kids want to save some, HIDE IT I tell them! LOL
They (peeps) do look cute, but apart from cadury cream eggs, i'm not much for candy. Chips (home made fries)and popcorn are my downfall!
thanks for the reminder about Easter, I haven't got anything yet. We read the Easter story and then the kids get to hunt eggs. Lots of fun, as long as the dogs dont beat them to it!
We went to town today and I got the Mercy Me CD that has "I can only imagine" on it. I love that song, it invades my soul. Have you heard it?

when I said I'm not big on candy............I forgot about candy corn. I had my first taste last year. Those are good! : D (not for your sugar levels though!)

When I started brushing Sugar, lots came out and now she looks so much better, but Misty had "clumps" of winter hair come out. I just pulled it out and then brushed her and brushed her until it was all gone. She looks great now. I probably had enough for at least one plastic sack full! I'm sure they appreciated their new look!

Ice cream is my downfall, and chocolate:)

I just got back from town. I had to pick up horse wormers. Now if it will stop raining I will go worm them.

I couldn't resist either, I stopped by Lowes to look thru their garden dept. They had so much stuff out. And altho my intentions were just to "look" to get ideas, and altho I know I'm still 1-2 weeks out before I really should plant, I bought 3 hostas, 2 kinds of ornamental grass, glad, and calla lilly bulbs, 2 6pks of monkey grass, and somthing called evergreen candytuft.

There is a possibility of a light freeze tonight, so I won't even think of planting today, I won't even think of planting today, I won't even....:)

Hey Becky! You come on back indoors! That frost will get those plants you have just planted! Go scrub your hands and eat some ice-cream instead! : D

LOL

No I was not out planting. My keyboard had gotten so bad with the keys sticking, I just sat down and popped all of them off soaked them in hot water, and wiped all the gunk that was on the key board off. It is now working sooooo much better. Except for the space bar. Mack said don't take it off, as it is very hard to get back on. But at least the rest is working now.

I really want to plant tho:)

Becky

My cat Sam came in with the 'big-eyed serious' look. Purred and stared at me. What was up? A nice plump dead rat under the bed.

He was so proud. He would like for me to take it to a taxidermist and have it stuffed and mounted.

You know, a little wooden plaque and a brass plate underneath;

RATTUS CARNIVORUS REX

Hang it on the wall.

I got my cedar burnt. Later today got to go brush my white/gray mare. I almost got all the winter hair off. Anybody know what makes an 11-yr-old dove-gray mare turn into a fleabit? Dang. Over the past year she's developed red freckles all over. She used to be so pure and pretty.

There ain't nothing wrong with freckles, I got a whole mess of 'em. My hair used to be really red when I was younger, I looked just like Howdy Doody. Been a long time since I was pure.

Ahhhhh, you should get that rat stuffed. Your kitty brought it to you for a gift.

All greys will eventually get flea bitten, either with red or or black. The older they get the more freckles they get.
