Our current arguement here is his color - stud owner says dun, I say a chestnut bred to a chestnut can't be anything but chestnut I hesitate to ask this but could there have been another guy in her life?
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes, the stud can be seen at www.quincsgrandfinale.com
I'll try to go snag a picture or two of him.

Heh.... Melody was beautiful and I think she has a pretty head! She wasn't very big... and I think she got shorter every year. She's long gone now, she belonged to the appy breeder that let me hang around when I was a kid. She was older than the hills then, and she died in her sleep one night.
That foal at her side, on the other hand, was a homely thing who didn't exactly improve with age ;~D bless his heart.

No, no one else. There is dun in the stud's background, I'm just not wanting to admit this guy could be dun. And theoretically, he shouldn't be unless the stud carries a dilution gene.

Well I think he's pretty!
He threw a different kind of blanket on your foal, none of the peacock spots, just the snowy blanket.

Nothing really, just that he'd be a lot flashier as a chestnut. Mostly just my personal feelings about the stud coming out. He's a right pretty colt, and as a snocap, will almost always throw color if he is used as a stud, like 90-95% color.

I don't know the genetics of blue eyes in horses, although they usually show up in paints or horses with very wide blazes or bald faces.

Well we could let him do his thing next year and make a baby with Sarah Lee. Now that would be really interesting. No telling what we would get:')
To: CindyDawg
Well, he won't be quite old enough next year. I went and looked at a bunch of the pictures on the appaloosa project though and it looks like he might carry the sabino gene. I'll let you know what they say when I get some pictures posted there.

W-D 40 is a great de-tangler. Spray it on the knot in the the mane, let it dry awhile and they brush out alot easier, without much breakage.

He is looking good:). Sorry about the blue eye. I'm not real fond of blue eyes either. But alot of people are.
Breeding is a crap shoot, no doubt.
