*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*
Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
They're just taking advantage of the vacation season kicking off in June.
That's pretty much what I was thinking on all points in your post.
Beth called me later in the evening and said that Stephanie is a very nervous rider, (why would she get on a horse that is being corrected for bucking), and then tell Beth she wants to buy that horse???
The little bit I saw the horse, it's probably not a bad horse, he just needs alot of miles with an experienced rider. Stephanie is going to screw him up, being afraid.
Becky
You'll need either a Passport or your drivers license and a certified birth certificate to get on the boat. After that, they'll take your picture and give you a ship's ID card that's linked to your credit card that also functions as your cabin key, a credit card for anything extra you do or buy on the boat, and your ID card to get on or off the boat. You have to scan that card when you get off so they know you're not on the boat, then again when you get back on so they'll know you're back. It won't keep them from leaving your ass if you're late, but at least they'll know you missed it. When they say the boat will be leaving the port of call at a certain time, they By Gosh MEAN it. We had several get left on our cruise. It's your problem to get back to the boat or home if you miss it.
"When they say the boat will be leaving the port of call at a certain time, they By Gosh MEAN it. We had several get left on our cruise. It's your problem to get back to the boat or home if you miss it"
That leaves me and my husband out, he makes us late everywhere we go. Being early or on time is completely out of the question so we better stay away from the cruise ships.
This is a picture of some people from our boat trying to get back on the boat after we left from Cozumel. They apparently got the little pilot boat there on the right to take them out to the ship. Lord knows how much THAT cost 'em. It was a whole family I think coz they were paging several people with the same last name before we pulled out. I can't think of a worse sight to see when you're walking down the pier than your boat pulling out without you...
This one my husband took by stretching his arm out over the side of the boat when the pilot boat was docking up with the ship in motion...
It was kinda funny (as long as it wasn't me!)
What did man at the beach say to Michael Jackson?
"Get out of my son."
Groooooss!!
Keith, I think you are a truly disturbed person! ;o)
That's what two tours through Nam will do to ya.
So I hear. But I'll never know whether to believe you or not. Keeps life around here interesting I guess.
Here they're throwing the loop out in front of her. The next step her legs will be in the loop...
The Mexican people don't understand why we get so upset when they do it to horses, but will do it to cows all day long. I don't know, but it's just DIFFERENT. The same reason we don't eat dogs and cats I guess.
There were Mexicans at the barn where we once boarded our horses - another boarder's mare was going for a horse and accidentally nipped my arm (pretty badly) He told me if he had been there - he would have taken a board and hit her in the face between the eyes. "She'd never bite again!!!"
They seemed so perplexed that we treated our horses gently.... They had 2 beautiful stud colts - I heard later one of them died (I suspect from some sort of abuse).
That picture of Charlie........
ROFL that is SO good! Made my day! : D
An internet search on the center pulled up news articles on a 22year old mexican national (I think) arrested in 2003 for riding a 6yr old stallion to death at the center.
I have no way of stopping this, although I intend to call the new owners this weekend to find out if they know about this. It doesn't have a webpage that I can find so I can't see what the facilities look like.
If he tells us he has 3 purple hearts, I think we know who he REALLY is.
I used to have 3 purple hearts.
No, those were 3 purple FARTS! There's a difference.
Purple farts don't light as well as normal farts
Yeah, and you'll catch your pants on fire if you don't do it just right. ;o)
