Hello, been cooking supper, and laying in my chair watching TV.

The ride was great, but nothing special to talk about. But this neighbor of mine who I rode with has seen this big coyote that's been here, funny thing she thinks, something that I've thought but kept to myself, that this thing is NOT a coyote but a wolf. I'm telling you it's huge, Her and her husband both think it's a wolf. That's really scary. I've mostly thought it was from the size AND color. It is actually very pretty, where the coyotes I've seen in the past always looked a bit scraggly.
I've just never been close enough to it to know for sure. Don't know if I would anyway.

Coyotes can be pretty, but they are small. Possible that it is actually somebody's wolf hybrid that is either running loose or has gone completely feral?

This thing is bigger then a German Shepherd. Do coyotes get that big.

It seems to have a faint reddish color to it to.

Beth said you could tell by the shape of it's ears, and the shape of the ears on this one she says is like a wolf.

ooooh.... no - not nearly that big. Coyotes are 25-50 pounds MAX. Closer to the size of a springer spaniel than a german shepherd.

Well this thing was alot bigger then Grizzly and he's about the size of a GS. Very furry looking, Different then the coyotes I've seen.

I've tried googling but I can't find out if we even have wolves in OK.

Maybe it is someone's loose wolf dog. I know several people who have had them...

That it might be some kind of feral wolf/dog/coyote mix makes a lot of sense in it's behavior.... someone raised it, that's why it's not afraid of you... and it may even be the reason he didn't just kill your dog. They're wild enough to be dangerous, but not nearly as scrappy as a truly wild animal.

I'd assume anything like a wolf in your area got away from someone.

That's just what I was thinking. I'm wondering now the way him and Grizzly ran back and forth if they were playing. I didn't hear any growling, Grizzly barked for a while...I don't remember that his hackles were raised tho...

Hi Becky, thanks for the time differnce post!
your problem sounds like a wolf. Are you staying in the RV to deal with the problem yet?

Kind of hard to tell from the pictures, but this one seems bigger then the ones in the pictures. I know it was bigger then Grizzly and he's at least as big as a GS. My DIL has a GS too, that's why I thought tho compare to it.

Any way, Harley did good on the ride. He walked out real nice. Beth's arab walks pretty fast, I've always lagged behind her when I rode Rusty. Seems Harley and her horse walk about the same, we alternated back and forth who was in the front. The mud is bad on alot of the trails. We sunk some in some places. The creek was very full, almost to the bottom of my stirrups, and Harley is pretty tall. Beth had to hold her feet out of the water. The little arab she has is pretty nice. Tends to buck once in a while, but I think that's more Beth then the horse. I've watched her, she'll kick to get him going, but be holding back on the reins too.

She told me the POA lady is building a seperate pen for the mare to foal in:),

Well I guess that just about catches you up on all my neighbor hood gossip:)

Well, I don't know if he was that big:)...

No we haven't set the RV yet. But the dogs haven't barked at all in the mornings, so I don't think he's been here anyway. I think he makes rounds. I've never seen him two days running.

It's also been busy around here the last few days. Charlie has been workin on equipment out in the shop, making lots of noise, and Kristy has come by a few times, and I was out side alot yesterday. Maybe be keeping him scared off.

Sorry for all the dead pics, it is hard to tell... but it was hard to find examples in google that were still on their feet, yet had a size reference.
