*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*
Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Guys can get away with that.... It's more embarrassing for wimmen.
Anyway, there's a barn about 10 miles from my house that I've been admiring for years. It's an old barn that was restored. I like the lines of this barn. Real symmetry. I'm gonna build my barn similar to it. See photo below.
I just got started on mine. Just the four corners in the ground. I used this photo because of the UFO in the upper left side. (We get those all the time in SC)
So there it is. Next trip home will be St. Patrick's Day weekend. Gonna combine St. Paddy's Day with Easter holiday. Guess I'll have to get drunk and stew a rabbit.
LOL! Sounds personal to me.
That's a beautiful barn!
I'm tellin' ya.... You'd be made in the shade with a well written personal ad.... Single guy, horses... will send pictures of great barn upon request ;~D
You know.... my mind played a nasty trick on me when I first read that. ;~D
How do I post one?
Becky
Right click it and copy the properties, and IMG SRC code it just like any other pic.
Oh so that's what that is...I just figured you were flinging cow chips...
Now ain't that funny that, while flatulence is totally embarrassing for wimmen, it is a source of pride in (some) men.
That is a beautiful barn:) Good luck building one that everything goes smooth.
There is one built alot like it close to here. It's not restored tho. Just the other day when I drove past it I was thinking it will be such a shame when it collaspes. I have no idea why it hasn't come down yet given the wind storms we have here. I'll try to remember to take pictures of it.
Becky
LOL!!!
Now, Hair, Whatever could you mean?? ;o)
You know.... my mind played a nasty trick on me when I first read that. ;~D
Shame on you....on both accounts. :~)
I can't right click with the Web Tv:)
Becky
Can you copy past this? This is the source.

Call it a character flaw
Yeah thanks that worked:)
Becky
This will be the third barn that I've built and plus, I've now got a log cabin in my resume. Hopefully, I can use all of the previous experience on this barn, but, after all, I am a man.....
But I do love to build things. I start smiling just getting out the tools. Of course I've got to make sure that it doesn't consume all my time on my all too infrequent trips home. Gotta leave a little saddle time.
LOL...__it happens:)
Becky
