*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*
Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
She looks like she's 13 h or so. Hard to tell in the pic. I'm 5 nothing standing up straight, so there wouldn't be a problem.
She's strongly built too... She could carry an adult for purposes of training I think... Even if they'd look silly. I've thought many times of sliding up on her myself.
What's too bad is that you aren't closer and wanting to risk yourself for such a project. If she were well broke she'd bring a lot of money in pony club circles. Have you seen lately what those people will pay for jumping ponies? She's definately pretty enough, and athletic enough.
Morning, all!
The title of the book is "State of the Arts, From Bezalel to Mapplethorpe".
My husband told the head of the school that we won't be back next year so that problem seems solved.
Look at amazon.com for that book. I left a review yesterday.
Yes, she screams hackney. Very well put together indeed. I would ride her for you if a whole country span didn't separate us. I think that the closest I'm going to be is MN in April and possibly oklahoma in the summer if I get the job that I want.
Good review!
Well, she's young, we've got time ;~D
How old is she?
She's seven this year. I figure... maybe she'll settle down in a few years when arthritis kicks in ;~D
She's got C'mere Beaker written all over her:')
lol. I'd love to try to take her on as a project pony...
Thanks! Check this out, it's an ad for a horse that was given to me 2 summers ago. He bucked and the owners were afraid of him. I gave him to a friend of mine and she worked wonders with him. It's amazing what you can do with a throw away horse, if you have the time to work with them.

Well you have time to plan. I took my son to school one morning to stay. I took him out after lunch. By supper I was wondering "what have I done?" :')
Great! Does she want a short project? ;~D
I'm glad to hear that there are other parents who feel as I do, that's for sure. I got an email this morning from one of the dad's, he had forwarded his correspondence with the teacher in question. The dad was very nice about it but told the teacher he didn't want him "enlightening" his children concerning this so called "art". The teachers replies were more respectful to this dad than they were to me, probably because the dad is a National TV sportscaster that most sports fans will have heard of. nyuk nyuk nyuk
She could certainly help you with the pony, she did an unbelievable job with that gelding. And she never got rough with him, ever.
Unfortunately, we are no longer friends. I made the mistake of letting her keep the horse here at my home and she never understood why I wouldn't let her bring her boyfriends (that she met in bars and some had police records) over to meet my children and her horse. She finally did it anyway, without my permission, and I told her not to come back.
Heh... Oh well ;~D
My home, my rules. I really did hate to lose her friendship, though. She was my only riding buddy.
There isn't much I won't do to keep my children safe. I did enjoy looking up her boyfriends police records! Interesting reading. Mostly DWI and drug stuff.
Oops, got the wrong guy. The dad involved isn't the tv sportscaster, unfortunately. I don't know what the dad involved does but his wife is a judge. Glad she's on my side.
Hehe that guy was probably nice because he knew what the kids parent did for a living.....
LOL Probably not a good idea to make a judge mad. That's one bridge you wouldn't want to burn...
