You know, when I decided to come forward and say something about this, I couldn't for the life of me think what they would say as a defense. I honestly didn't think they could come up with a good reason why this book should be in the curriculum but he sure tried to rationalize it, didn't he?

I would really like to get this man and his wife in a crowd of parents and have them discuss how descriptions of men urinating into the mouths of other is men is appropriate material for young teenagers. Or the fact that there are women out there who will degrade their bodies by masturbating in public then letting people inspect her privates with a flashlight. I can't even believe that what I just wrote was in a book that my daughter read! I'm gonna have a stroke if I don't quit thinking about it.

I can't name the school, there are some crazy people out there reading this stuff and I don't want them to know where I am. Knowing I'm in Texas is close enough, it's a big state.

Do ya'll really think I should start a thread about this?

Its sickening and perverted that they are defending themselves rather that pulling the book.
I could get real ugly about this. Nothing makes me madder than people who CORRUPT our children with degrading filth like this.
Maybe if you go to the school, threaten to go public, they might feel the need to pull the book. If not, go to the media and let all hell break loose.

Whoa. 10000 a piece. I thought 3000 was a lot. I even get a 10% discount for the next one :') I also pay monthly.

Do you really want your kids in a school where you feel this way? Like I mentioned earlier, certain things can modify behavior but you can't make someone change. They have to want to. Talk with the minister. It won't hurt but if you still have concerns I would demand a refund, and go elsewhere. You have already notified the other parents. What more can you do?

We started out the day with rain, but it's clear now, a little chilly with wind. It was a remarkable January. So warm, and so little snow in the mountains that our ski resorts have never been fully open this year yet! It's really not going to be good come spring when there's no runoff to be had for Seattle's water supply.

I am located in North Alabama. The buttercups are located at an old abandoned home site.

you are right there are some crazies out there, so naming the school on here may not be the right thing, however, I would go to the school, with anyone that was a backup and threaten them with exposure if the book wasnt pulled. All of those children do not need this kind of thing thrust at them.
If that didnt work, I would pull my children, however hard i found that to do, and go public.

I thought that your area had gotten enough rain this year. Didn't know that you needed the snow melt too.

I think we'll get the rain we need to fill the water table here... eventually... At least I hope.
Seattle drinks off snow pack reservoirs in the mountains and it will not be a good summer for them.

With as much rain as the state of Washington gets each year, one would never think that there is a fresh water problem there.

It has been a wet winter here with lots of mud. Not complaining though......

Did you read all of the teacher's rationalizations? He didn't discuss it in class, it was a Christian book from a Christian publisher, I took it out of context, it needed to describe the acts so kids could see that it wouldn't be supported by the Christian community, blah blah blah
