RANT:
I absolutely HATE when the news [Fox just did this] interviews a deployed soldier and then puts his family on the air to 'say hello'. I get so embarrassed by it I turn the channel. It is always so awkward for the family, the children, and the soldier combined to have to 'act out' this moment on live national television. They should open up the camera link to talk to each other alone... and leave us out of it. The awareness that the live audience is there changes it from intimate and special to awkward and artificial.
