First, here's the comparison of the grooving on the CQB3 (which I haven't filed yet), and the CQB1, which I have. The grip on the CQB1 is better now, but not as "agressive" as the CQB3. Still, it is an improvement, and it does customize the knife.
Next, a comparison of the grips of the CQB1, and the BK-line of knives. Note that the blade stock is quite heavy on both. But the BK2/3 has screw-on grips. I find them vey full, even for my large-sized hands. I wish they had other grip panels that were a bit thinner. All it takes is an allen wrench. If it was my knife, I'd probably grind a bit off the bottom to make them slimmer. They're hollow, but have thick walls.
Here is a sample of the playing cards and bandanas Camillus donated, along with a card that comes with each knife. The cards are Hoyles.
Finally, a suggested use for the Petzl "carritool", which is intending for carrying rock or ice-climbing tools. Makes a good place to hang your empty mags until you have time to reload them. I have a few extras (caribiners, not magazines), if anyone is interested.
I soooo need a weekend.
Have finished working a project with She-who-needs-ritalin (yaaaay) but am on a new project with a gal who is even more hyper and distractable and scatterbrained. I have dubbed her She-Who-Needs-Ritalin-II.
nice customizin'... I like a beefy grip, but agree, it can be too extreme...
don't really need another carabiner... got at least 6 I use...
btw, I use the photon lite on a regular basis... a great little piece of gear...
Will it hold full ones? :D
