Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I love armadillos! You see 'em passin' by at dusk and they just seem to be off in their own world, going about their business. I like to sit quiet and just watch 'em. My understanding is they don't have very good eyesight, so I kinda like the idea that there's a very peculiar one of God's creatures walking by and it doesn't have a clue I'm there.
I also used to eat 'em in stew 'til I found out about the leprosy connection...
Good morning everyone!

I watched the first few episodes of "Red Dwarf" the other night. I was not amused.I had a roommate once that liked that show, and I watched a few episodes with him. I don't care for it either.

Leprosy (sung to the tune of "Yesterday")
Leprosy
All my skin is falling off of me.
I'm not half the man I used to be.
Oh, leprosy came suddenly.
Suddenly,
There is not a whole lot left of me.
Now my feet are where my knees should be.
Oh, leprosy came suddenly.
Why I have to rot, I know not,
I'm growing thin.
There is something wrong,
How I long for some new skin.
Leprosy
All my skin is falling off of me.
I'm not half the man I used to be.
Oh, leprosy came suddenly.

I'm enjoying it because I'm catching up on "old" TV shows. Last night I watched the first three (or four, one was a double) episodes of Star Trek: TNG. Two of them I didn't remember.See, now, that could be cool! One of the reasons I don't watch movies is just because I hate sitting down for that long of an evening...and breaking them up into smaller chunks doesn't always work. But TV shows are easier to fit in and there are a LOT I've never seen.
Never seen Red Dwarf, so I dunno if I'd agree with you or not! What wasn't good about it?

Hey...you know why they had to stop the leprosy hockey game? There was a face-off in the corner.
Whe did the man with leprosy get a speeding ticket? He left his foot on the gas.

What wasn't good about it? It was just a bit too off the wall for me. Granted, I was working on tax receipts at the time, but I had a hard time following it. And I didn't find it worth the effort.

I'm pretty sure we've talked about Leprosy here in the Hole before...I'm pretty sure my jokes have already been told.
Oh well...I still laugh at 'em.

Mrs. Smith, can Mary come out and play?
Why Johnny, you know Mary has leprosy.
Can we come in and watch her rot?
(did we go to the same youth camp?)

"Party At The Leper Colony"
By Wierd Al Yankovic
Finger food and an ice cold keg
It won't cost you an arm and a leg
Dance all night to a rotten band
Come on, people, let's give 'em a hand
Saturday night, it's the place to be
Everybody cut footloose with me
At the party at the leper colony
Oh, there's a party at the leper colony
Hey
Met a little lady so pretty and young
She was quite a little talker 'till the cat got her tongue
She oozed up beside me, I turned on my charm
Well, pretty soon she was completely disarmed
I said, "Girl, now don't fall to pieces on me"
But she cried her eyes out - literally
At the party at the leper colony
Oh, there's a party at the leper colony
Hey, hey
Hey now, buddy, don't you give me no lip
Sorry I was using your head for dip
There's a guy in the hot tub, I don't know who
Wait a minute, it looks like Stu
Well, hold the phone now, what do I see?
Another pretty mama got her eye on me
At the party at the leper colony
Oh, there's a party at the leper colony
