Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You sure it was the 'chip' aisle and not the 'fruits and nuts aisle'?
To: 2Jedismom
*sigh*
I seem to attract weirdos, too. But most of the time it's stuff I wouldn't even wanna repeat here.
I guess that's ONE plus of driving all the way to CO...not so many opportunities to bump into such critters. When flying, I've sure met my share.

LOL!
Eek...boss hasn't been in the office all morning, and I'm not sure where he is.
I wanna get this over with, but if he comes back from an unpleasant meeting and I drop this on him...it wouldn't be very good.

Flying is another good time to keep the 'Back off and leave me a long' aura in full force. Well, except when passing though the metal detector. I don't think I have ever had anyone talk to me in that mode unless it is a very outgoing sales person. Probably because I use to do that sort of think and general friendliness corrupts the 'back off' body language..

Chatty this morning aren't we precious?

mmmm too much caffeine, yummy

I generally have dirty old men try to tell me their whole life story, and no amount of ignoring or inching away completely rids me of 'em. Usually when I'm, say, waiting to board or for a bus, so I can't just leave the area.
Luckly I've never ended up next to one on a flight. The weirdest there was probably just a kooky hippy lady.

Heh...I had one of those type men sitting beside me on the subway in DC. Asking all kinds of personal questions, which my mom happily answered for me including my last name which she very thoughtfully spelled out for the fellow.

Ew! You'd think your mother wouldn't be so naive...
Luckily in my case they generally just wanna spill their guts...but I've gotten a few weird questions, too.
I don't like flying alone!

Heh...I got quite a tongue-lashing, I can tell you...when I asked her to not do that again. One does not reproach someone who is above reproach.

Well, how close can you get to Tanzania with the leave you've got?

I'd have to make some sacrifices along the way. And I wouldn't have any room for contingencies. That's not really wise planning in the Stormhands' household.
Reality is sinking in. I knew it was a long shot. But I'd rather not be able to go because I couldn't raise the money (distinct possibility) than because I didn't have enough time off.
Ah well, "Next year in Jerusalem!"

Hey - at least it's not as bad as breaking up with a bad boyfriend. There won't likely be tears.

This is a mission trip? I don't recall you mentioning it before, but I miss a lot sometimes around here.

Heh...true.
Hopefully. ;-)
The trouble is, as I said, although we're really pretty minimally staffed, the powers that be have been muttering about cutting positions. There's the possibility that even though they wouldn't REALLY cut anyone, they may not refill my position. Which would hurt.

Which would hurt. Not as much as it hurts when they DO fill your position, and you've left your number for them to call if they can't find something or need help figuring something out, and they NEVER need to call. ;~D

Wouldn't hurt ME if they didn't fill my position...but I mean it could hurt the department. Kind of a betrayal.

STOP FEELING GUILTY ABOUT LEAVING THIS JOB!
You're a sensitive soul, and I don't fault you for it at all. ;~D
