I know about cooking on the wood stove..........but I wouldn't know the first thing about baking on top of it.

I have stew and chili in the freezer that I can easily heat on the woodstove if it were to come to that. ANd I picked up real popping corn.....not the microwave stuff that passes for popcorn and is only edible with added salt and butter.

i would think it might tend to be done on the bottom but raw on the top? an oven is an enclosed space where the heat circulates around it to cook it. how do you get that by cooking atop a wood stove? and what was it you baked?

i had a bag of real popcorn, but included it in the boxes of stuff i sent to the troops, figuring they wouldn't be able to do microwavable stuff. my kids and their father go through popcorn like nobody's business. that is one thing i wish i had gotten.
