I just posted on the other forum that I think the Mom, don't recall her name now, seems to be the most interesting character in the show, at this point. She seems to hate her son. Did you see her cringe when she hugged him in EP #3? And wow, what a scene in the basement!

I agree, the mother is not who she seems. 24 has a history of turning characters. Get season one and you'll see. (if you haven't already)
