Control over people has been mostly the realm of politics and religion, not science and businesses. Throughout history political and religious leaders have convinced followers to kill over a hundred million people. Men and women using science and business have not killed even one-thousandth as many in the same time frame. For man to survive terrorist must be defeated to rise up a business/science civilization. A civilization where people live forever. Not an anti-civilization where everybody dies.
Conscious-beings, be they Earthlings or extraterrestrial create new technologies to benefit themselves. We are already using space to our advantage. Satellites and understandings of the Moon and Mars. SOHO, midway between the Sun and Earth is constantly sending information about solar wind to receivers on Earth.
Earthlings will figure out how to escape the Sun burning out long before it does. Extraterrestrial conscious beings with billion year advanced technology have likely learned how to keep the Universe from imploding on itself. Perhaps creating universes is routine for them.
The third macro component of existence -- matter and energy the first two -- is consciousness/conscious-beings. Man-Gods and Woman-Gods populate the Universe. Earthlings are the anomaly seemingly trapped in an political/religious anti-civilization.
Earthlings see themselves as but a dot compared to the Universe. Extraterrestrial's see the Universe as but a dot compared to themselves -- their control of nature.
I easily realize that
science and technology
are
some sort of
paragon everything to you.
They are not, to me.
Science and technology without solid foundational values rooted in an altogether Good Infinite
are the deadliest things going.
Satre, at least, realized that without a meaningful connection with an Infinite, the finite was meaningless. It was sad he never found that connection. At least he realized the foundational issue.
Counterfeit RELIGIOSITY IS almost as deadly as science and technology without the Love of God.
An authentic RELATIONSHIP with God Almighty is entirely different.
But I realize you're quite convinced of your constructions on reality, as am I. I doubt our earnest words or pontifications will have much influence on one another.
BTW,
I don't, for a minute, think that your philosophy of life re science and technology
have even largely to do with a careful, reasoned, long-term evaluation of the evidence and a careful calculated settling upon what therefrom is the best match of the evidence for you.
I'm reasonably confident it has 90%+ to do with the fact that you are hostile to doing and not doing what an Almighty God has asked of you.
And probably, that doesn't have as much to do with evidence as it does with events and relationships the first 25 years of your life.
