Good morning, xsmommy.
Happy New Year's Eve, all:
I like the word "diaphonous".
An old friend from books of my teens.
That was used in rapacious seductive scenes.
And caused reactions cocaphonous.
The word also describes today's Ivied Towers.
LA Times, Chicago Post and The Old Gray Lady.
Whose intent is distinctively shady.
For the ire they feel for the Party In Power.
With words ugly and ribald and gaseous.
Preaching to the Choir with such drivel.
They'll brook no rebuttals or quiblles.
While brewing a witches stew most disasterous.
Fascism here. Racism there. Paranoia all over the place.
A camp would look good over yonder.
For the boys who love make-up and diaphonous lace.
If things look bad they'll just interview Jane Fonda.
Jack.

Kind of reminds me of a Jeff Foxworthy comment:
Iffen they don't die b'fore us, they're gonna die affen' us........

You know the other rule, toots - you show me yours and I'll show you mine. :^)
By the way, hobbes, what's all this? They include Katherine Ross (barf!), a bunch of other scrags, and Buffy(!), and some good ones, but no Hedy??? Oh, well, at least they had the sense to include Audrey Hepburn.

On my first attempt, I tried
cocaphonous too.
But since my other rhymes included heinous, extraneous, anus and mucus membraneous I figured I was trying too hard and went in another direction. Bravo to you for making it work!

Yeah, yeah...poor Martha.
Her net worth has grown some $250 million +/- since she went into the slammer.

I remembered that article someone posted last New Years' Eve about wearing yellow panties on New Years' Eve bringing good luck, so I bought a yellow thong like last year-I'm not so sure it works, but every little bit of luck helps...

"Interior Desecrations"
I've personally seen some truly horrible homes in the 70's, and the worst one belonged to the architect my ex-husband worked with-harvest gold appliances, putrid orangey shag carpet and all. The first house I owned had brown shag carpet and avocado appliances-it is too horrible to contemplate, now...

Supposedly. I think it was an article by some woman in Latin America somewhere-I figured yellow panties were lucky because you are luck to be able to find any at this time of the year...

Thanks, Dutchgirl!
Your poem's naughty, near bawdy and very funny!
Somewhere there is a great poet LHAO up in the clouds.
Outstanding rhyme with "cookie"!
Methinks you'd have to try very hard to make "Mucus Membraneous" work.
Jack.

naughty, near bawdy and very funny! Did you, by any chance, catch my homework from yesterday? I posted it EARLY this morning...it's not quite a limerick with a terrible pun--and I didn't dare post any "visual aids."
BTW, my office is briefly a child free zone. Lillie is with her other grandparents for the day. Since their son refuses to speak to her Spanish, I told them that I will-- and the first thing I will teach her is "Mi abuela es Peggy Hill."

"Do you think, O blue-eyed Banditti,
That youll deprive Daddy of nookie?
Im putting bourbon in your warm milk,
And Qualuudes into your cookie."
Bwahahahaha. I love it.

In 1992 my folks moved to a new house. My bedroom had red shag carpetting. What a terrible year we got Billy the Impeached and I got a new high school.
