That's an old, old one from the sixties. Lee Marvin and his horse are drunk. They stay that way through much of the movie :)

I keep thinking it was a mare but I don't remember much about the horse other than it was a mountain horse and that scene was heart stopping.

Sheesh. I never paid attention to the MOVIE. Too busy watching the horse........and knowing that he was doing horsey thangs.
