.... [We Limeys] "tend to know more about the issues in hand" ....

I suspect this is true in respect of threads about UK news items where, on occasion, I have been told by certain USFReepers that I didn't know what I was talking about even though they had never been within 1000 miles the UK

- mainly because, given a choice between a familiar theory and a challenging reality, some will always prefer to maintain the comfortable theory and accuse the messenger who brings them the inconvenient reality..

On occasion, some of us do know more about the issues at hand, but I have learnt that one should NEVER expect a USfreeper to concede any ground - ever! - especially when they are wrong!

P.S. - seen the Tsunami threads about the UK public (non govt) donations (now £60m /$130m and rising), comfortably (per capita) outstripping US public (non govt) donations?

Most amusing to see Freepers who routinely piss on other countries complaining that this should not be turned into a pissing contest!!!!

Who says Americans don't understand irony???

Even if that were to temporarily the case it would be but a momentary aberration -- likely predicated on the "immediate-impact syndrome," generated by the fact many many many more Brits and other Euro-peons regualarly visit and/or live and/or retire in South East and/or Southern Asian countries [where there has long been a steady supply of little boys for the likes of, say, Arthur clark, to buggar] -- and would, even in the short term, alter little about a world in which Americans, 6% of the world's population, historically donate 60% of the world's aid. And in which Americans give more to charity [About One Third of a Trillion Dollars annually] -- AFTER TAX -- than the GNP of three quarters of the world's states.

[I have homes in a couple of South East Asian countries, am sitting in one of them Right now -- and witness them all at first hand. As often as not, when they're not engaged in disgusting behavior of one kind or another, the prevailing feeling of what constitutes having a good SE-Asian "holl" seems to involve their sitting about the place pissing and moaning to one another about their shared morbidly-pathological hatred of and "superiority" over all things American. To boot, I have lived and worked many years in the uk, my son lives in Bristol -- and I vist often.]

America's overwhelming generosity comes on top of our having spent Trillions of Dollars the lives of hundreds of thousands of Good Americans and most of the past 100 years or so clearing up many of the bloody-awful once-great-british and other Euro-peon colonial and other foreign f****ps left all over the world's surface [Like the ones, eg, in Indo-China and in Somalia and in Pakistan and in Iraq and in Greater Israel -- and all about the middle east] -- and fighting and winning the wars they cannot stay out of and to which certain of them [Our Nation's "moral superiors"] have brought either whimpering, cowering cowardice, surrender and/or Quisling-appeasement -- or such barbarism as would not have disappointed Vlad the Impaler and/or Ghengis Khan -- and as the consequence of which there is not a single FRee Man on this Earth -- including any of those FRee-loading here, who does not owe his life and his FReedom to the American Nation he so despises!

Why it's enough, as Homer Simpson might have observed -- and probably did, to cause a Good American Man to complain that: "If there's one thing I cannot stand it's an ungrateful ingrate."

Blessings -- B A
