I've had some run-ins with a few of these trans atlantic "allies" before. Several of them call themselves 'Redcoats' by way of redressing supposed slurs on their nationality by any means both childish and petulant. The part I am having trouble understanding is the part about hanging around a board they have nothing but contempt for. Any resposes from the old country would be considered mighty white by this dumb yank...
LOL. Well put.
<< ..... [The Americans who own these boards] might find it equally useful if they "try learning something" from [Once-great-british] posters and their "attempts to set the record straight" on various issues.
.... [We Limeys] "tend to know more about the issues in hand" ....
.... [And] most Americans [Do not] like it [When they are] dismissed as a bunch of obese, inbred redneck religious nutcases ....
; .... [Americans] "appear to think" that they know more .... than we do .....

.... Quod Erat Demonstrandum
Hooray! Selective quotation can be fun!
You don't seem to have learnt how to reply to the right person though...
actually, i don't think americans are cowards and bullies, i do however think that of a fair few of the morons on this site who constantly harp on about islam at every opportunity, regardless of its relevence to the topic under discussion, and who's only remedy for anything is to send other people - never themselves - off to sunny parts the world to lay waste to areas of the world they consider to be nestbeds of islamic terrorism.
it is difficult to take seriously the opinions of people who publicly think that:
a) sri lanka is a muslim country - as we were told many times on the various tsunami threads.
b) that surrey is in northern england - see the UK board for details.
c) that tsunamis are gods way of killing homosexuals and paedeophiles (perhaps god doesn't know where maida vale, los angeles and new yorks' village are?)
d) that europe is being overun with muslims who can't read but who somehow will rule us all and impose sharia law despite only being about 3% of the population.
ignorance is very boring, but hugely irritating from those who profess to know our own country better than we do.
and i'm not a proffessor, i'm a senior lecturer - you may hand out that title with $99 internet PhD's, we however don't.

The Yanks hate her as much as the Welsh.
She claimed that all Americans were dumb. Who are we to disagree when we see the evidence here each day...?

That is actually what some of these pricks are saying about the tsunami relief fund. They probably consider the free republic a more worthy benefactor.

Blimey, I must have put half a dozen posts on the main board and I'm still here.
Is Virgil still pissed from last night?
As I say, why do you go there?
Did you used to post as TLBSHOW? He spams threads with crap from other threads.
As I say, why do you go there?
SS. Why not the same for you on FR? Or FR UK?
Don't like your words put out?
And yes, you and your words are spam!
Well, I come here to while away the long boring hours at home until I can get back to university and civilisation, and because I find American culture interesting. Why do you come here I wonder? Is it just to hear people mindlessly agreeing with your views?
You certainly don't appear to come here to improve your apostrophe placement skills.
They weren't my words though. You only lifted one post from me. Get a life, creep.
this is totally unrelated to the rest of the thread - but hey, it doesn't stop anyone else so - what is the score on your screen name "sausageseller", are you some kind of rent boy?
and the good people of freerepublic are able to follow threads and visit the UK section through their own intellect, they don't need you to give them updates.
and do you see the delicious irony of complaining about us visiting freerepublic.com when we probably don't agree with most of whats written here, and then constantly visiting the UK section and then moaning about whats on it?
its pythonesque.
I think it's Aristophanes isn't it?
"But I have not had the least education. I can only read, and that very badly."
Sounds about right.
We will pray for your students, they need it.
PS. Surrey is in Oklahoma!
For future reference please remember that, lecturing is like drilling for oil...if you haven't struck something interesting after 15 mins. Stop boring!
