That sounds like a fine set of shotguns. Military shotguns have been underappreciated for many years.

Thanks for your info on the cutts and trench/riot guns. Guess it was one those stories that got passed around enough, it was simply accepted.

You used to see lots of guns with cutts and polys on them. Don't see them as much anymore. Toyed with getting one for my shotgun but never did. Kind of glad I didn't now.

Those screw-in internal choke tubes of today pretty much do the same thing, and they're mostly invisible.

Boys are out in the shop.

I got to see my car! I didn't know we were going to go see it or I would have brought my camera!

I wrote down all the numbers off it (chassis and engine) and found out that I have a completely original 1970 "Yukon Yellow" standard 12 volt Beetle, It has black "leatherette" interior that looks woven.

According to the engine number it actually has a 1968 1500cc engine in it! It has the old-timey looking steering wheel like I like (they made a more modern looking steering wheel the next year) and also the flat windshield, not rounded out in the front. Very cute.

That said...it looks AWFUL. It's going to require a lot of work, however the engine looked really pretty good. The man turned a wheel-like jobber in there that usually has a belt on it, you know and it turned smoothly. He and Steve looked at each other like this was very significant. Steve looked pleased.

We're picking it up over spring break...Steve just can't get to it before then and so I get it for my birthday. I'm going to call it My Precious.
