Or a field pumpgun for that matter. My high school vintage stevens 12 pump had it removed. I simply carried it with brass of the shell exposed, better than a safety. Closed it with the pump as I shouldered it.

been too windy today to shoot thebows... we'll be in Springfield all day tomorrow... the high point will be our stop at Bass Pro Shop...

Agree on the safety matter completely. I never use one. The only safety switch that matters is the trigger. What annoys me about the POS mossberg is that the broken safety always slips on in between shots. Most distracting. :-)

Osage: I rather like your method. I'm gonna have to try that.
