Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

4 years.
I'd like to consider moving to Wyoming, but Hair doesn't want to leave the ocean.

But now we will have to contest the election as the loser. My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!

I'm sure she'll be 'ready to reach out and across the aisle to commence the healing' (yeah sure)

As soon as news leaked out last night that she had pulled into the lead, she put out a big press release stating that she would abide by the results, and urging Rossi to as well.
Gimmeabreak. Did she abide by the results of the first two counts?
Well, the horses are banging on the gate demanding their dinner. Be back in a bit.

But if you left now, you could be here in time for
our Governor's election next year.
We've had the last 3 years of a carpetbaggin' Connecticut Yankee that lied and said "I will not raise taxes" and who proposed his first tax increase (of the four he proposed) just month after coming in to office.
He lied and pushed it for long enough and lied about the actual budget numbers long enough that the RINOs in the Senate and a few traitors in the House gave him what he wanted.
He signed the budget bill for the tax increase after he knew that we would have a surplus. And there's no talk of anything coming back to the people.

Local news about a shooting in Gig Harbor - something about defending a display? I only read the headline - it was muted and I couldn't catch it in time.

Evening Hair - The waves in Corin's ocean move ~ away ~ from the shore? Fascinating.

"The Cat Returns" is from 2002, I think. Ghibli Studios - so the art is pretty impressive. Not Miyazaki, I don't think, though, which is probably why I haven't seen it - I think they had most of the others.
It was a fun little movie! Teresa really liked it.

I got a "handwritten" note from W. I think it's printed, but it's his handwriting. And it's addressed to "Dear Corin" and talks about my work for his campaign in Virginia.Cool!

I don't get THAT lucky...
No, it's an anime series (Fruits Basket)...and some manga (kinda comicbook style novels) to borrow.
