The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I think you did a good thing.

On a dark street, if you were alone, I wouldn't recommend it....

But that's common sense, which you have in abundance.

Bundances are good places to carry things. It's nice to be able to say "I have common sense/food/ponies in a Bundance".

If you say "I have friends in a Bundance", I say "I hope it's big enough and has air holes".

It's late, and I'm babbling. Sorry...but not sorry enough to delete this before posting :)

Warning: stolen tagline follows

Some of us could use a round tuit.

Never touch the stuff.

I do get silly when I'm tired. Or grumpy. Depends what kind of day I had. Today was good.

I could try grumpy for you, if it would help :)

Dang... I don't have a Bundance. So, I don't have anything in it.

Never thought of that. All I need is a Bundance, and then I can put stuff in it. Good thinkin'. Are there Bundances for sale on e-Bay, or is this the sort of thing (like underwear) that it's just better to just buy new?

So...you've got one, eh?

I don't think you want to re-use the same bundance the crap came in. Unless it's for more crap.

Could you use it for grief? In trade for the crap?

Yes, now that you mention it... but sadly, I didn't save the packaging. I didn't know that bundances would be so scarce.

Heh...you ARE up after your bedtime, aren't you? ;-)

Ugh...so'm I. I really need to tear myself away...

Looking like it'll hit -25 or lower tonight. Oh, joy!

I'm thinking the car gets to warm up for at LEAST twenty minutes tomorrow, for its own good as well as mine. Don't want to repeat last years things-snapping-in-the-cold performances.

Oh, what a horrible creature I have spawned... :D
