EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -(AP) Eli Manning's best game as a pro wasn't enough to stop Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Roethlisberger threw for a career best 316 yards and threw four straight passes to set up Jerome Bettis' game winning 1 yard run with 4:57 left in the game, leading the Steelers to a 33-30 come from behind win over the New York Giants.

Those weren't thigh pads--that was Earl. :-)

I swear to God, his thighs were bigger than my waist and I'm no lightweight.

Pittsburgh is the worst 12-1 team in football. They only won their last two games because of errors and key penalties by their opponents. The Jets set a 3-year record in penalties (and that was all in the first half), negating at least 14 points. The Giants have the weakest front line in the NFL, and Manning still passed for 2 TDs.

It's 63 degrees heading for seventy as I write this, wishing you well up in the frozen North.

LOL! It's heading down to around 15 right now. Bummer.

I know he had huge thighs, but I saw a pregame once on those pads. The NFL eventually had to ask him to alter them, he was putting air in them or something.

He was a hell of a runner, but he really took a lot of punishment (and doled it out too). Those collisions in those Houston/Steeler games were unbelievable.

I really believe that the Steeler-Oilers rivalry was even a little greater than the Steeler-Raiders rivalry there for awhile.

You guys got robbed in the corner of the end zone in that game where your receiver (name escapes me) actually caught the ball. You should have won that game.

I also noticed how NE "kicked it up a notch" after that Steelers loss. They've been scoring early and often ever since.

As a Pats fan, I'm eager to see a rematch in the playoffs. Hope it's on our turf though.

"Even when the Giants pulled out to an early lead, there was no doubt that Pittsburgh would pull it out---with Roethlisberger at the helm."

Baloney...

The entire game was in jeopardy, and the Steelers got LUCK-Y....

They and a number of flukish plays go in their favor -- including that bogus "roughing" penalty, AND passes caught in their winning drive.

Thank you for that admission.

We're beginning to sound like old war veterans from opposing sides at battelfiedl reunions. And that has gotta stop cause we're gonna get ya next year.

Luv ya Battlefield Red. Go Texans.

(unfortunately, my Cowboys are still on the critical list and the prognosis is not good.)

...including that bogus "roughing" penalty...

Nothing bogus about that at all. You don't throw a quarterback to the ground after the play is whistled dead.

see post 95.

I'm a Steeler fan forever and I think the Patriots certainly have the edge no matter where the game is (or if it is).

Let the best team win....

There's a little thing called "momentum."

Even Alexander admitted that he was trying to hold Ben up on that play, and someone came up behind him and pushed the whole group over.....dominoes.

Real bad call.........imho......... but, today, there are skirts on QB's......J. Lambert.

That's not an admission, that's an excuse.

Yep, bad call...

As for Lambert -- that was a funny comment.

The guy was a blast to watch, I loved his intensity, but he WAS a bit over the edge, or even "dirty."

The ALL-TIME NFL "dirtiest" player had to be Oakland Raid-ah Ben Davidson. Just ask Joe Willie Namath and Jets Fans.
