the concerts i went too (all at harpos and were death metal) were packed houses
Entertainers are just going to have to accept a pay cut.
Or else the entertainment industry is going to have to uncover/market the NEXT big box office entertainers.
Things are certainly stagnant.

Norah Jones ticket sales were so poor in some markets
Maybe it's cuz her voice is nauseating.

I mostly go to clubs, small venue, cheap tix, underground bands, close to stage, works for me. My brother did get us front row for Alice Cooper ($40), about 3,000 seats and sold out. I don't go to "big name" concerts because of the price and most of them aren't worth paying that much for.

Tickets for Madonna and Simon & Garfunkel costing $350....... When I saw Simon and Garfinkle the tickets were $2.50. The Lovin' Spoonful opened for them.
We refused to see the Beatles because the tickets were $8.80 and NO group was worth that much.

I only go to local clubs at $8-10 cover charge and enjoy live music from a stuggling artist rather than these mega-stars.
The last big thing I went to was THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at the Majestic Theatre on Broadway in NYC ($100 seats).

It's hard to feel sorry for the music biz when so many worthy performers are ignored. I love going to concerts, but most of the bands I like are so unknown by the masses that their tickets usually cost around $15-$20.
This was a good year for concerts for me: Lambchop, Danny Barnes, Josh Rouse, Buddy Miller, among others.
