ok. i take it that you don't like george washintgon either? He was a mason. So were a lot of presidents. reading one books hardly makes you an expert. it makes you a propaganda outlet for the author. try reading "the builders" by Dr. Joseph Fort Newton.
and yes, you ARE ignorant. by definition. you know little, if nothing about freemasonry, nor of it's contributions to american society, world freedom and the cause of the common man. Visit a masonic lodge and talk to the people therein. Check out some of the lodge home pages on the internet. Read some more factual books that you have read. There are a number of masonic encyclopeidas that can enlighten (oops! masonnic term) you.
light? symbolizing knowledge! oimigwarsh! such a central tenet in an organization MUST be bad!
BTW: The bible is open during lodge for a reason, but i doubt that you'd be interested. it might challenge youru world view.
yes, there ARE benificial organizations inthe world, and you just knocked the oldest and largest one.
You gotta realize that certain preachers don't like competition. If the church members realize that they really do get along with their neighbors who don't belong to their congregation, then certain preachers are going to be out of a job.
camle, i have heard the catholic church and othe christian denominations do ban freemasonry. i never paid much attention to it, and doint really have an opinion on the matter. i also know a few freemason catholics. why do you think christian churches dont like freemasons?
i've noticed the flames on this post...i'm just looking for guidance.
