Have fun.

We could drop down to 28 degrees this evening in the CenTex.

let's demand they send back the money they just got for drought relief!".

Gettin' their message out! Begala has been spewing that line for the past couple of weeks on Crossfire. One would have to believe that Daschle passed and signed that bill all by himself, but then from what we've witnessed over the years from dims I'd have to say many dims gladly overlook the facts.

I don't see how dims will ever "get it" since they're busy making excuses for their failed policies and pointing fingers at 'Red States' as the group who needs to wise up.

I see more and more blacks coming over to our side. Especially since I saw a black Reverend on 'This Week' last Sunday who tried to explain to a perplexed Snuffeluffagus that blacks don't see religion in politics as a problem. They see religion in politics as a check on how government works, i.e., the Civil Rights Movement. Had Rev. King not used the argument that God would abhor the way whites were treating their fellow human beings we might still be using separate drinking fountains. Poor George and Tony Campolo (sp?) were quite taken aback by this revelation. Bless their hearts.

On a completely different subject: On local radio this morning was a discussion about a billboard on the interstate highway. Said billboard is a picture of President Bush with the caption, "Our leader." Apparently DimocraticUndergroud has a picture of it and were comparing such a display to that of the thousands of pictures of Saddam around Iraq. Plus encouraging vandalism and the false notion that Clear Channel is responsible for putting it up, which they're not, it was paid for by a citizen of this city. I couldn't find the thread over there darnit but I plan to take a trip down I-4 today (any excuse to drive my car fast enough to use sixth gear! :-)) to check out this billboard.

Back asap, many errands to run today, anniversay tomorrow! Big number 20!!

A genetic defect in all dims, no core beliefs. I guess when one is busy taking all sides of every issue to try to please every kooky faction of the party, after awhile any core belief they may have had is muddied very badly.

Speaking of Tony Campolo, Rush played a snippet of his diatribe against Christian Republicans, in which he implied they weren't really Christians because they were concerned with those pesky "values" and not (he claimed) the Matt. 25 "good deed" type of things, e.g., "I was in prison and you visited me, I was naked and you clothed me..."

As I listened, I wondered if Campolo was saying that salvation is exclusively by works, then, because that's sure what it sounded like! No room for repentance and discipleship in Mr. Campolo's brand of Christianity, just putting in sufficient hours at the soup kitchen.

The letter in the Orlando Sentinel:

Billboard message

On my way to work Wednesday morning, I looked up and saw a giant billboard with a picture of George W. Bush and the words “OUR LEADER” under it. The first thing I thought was, when was the last time I have seen a president on a billboard? What is going on? Didn’t Saddam Hussein have his picture up everywhere? What next, a statue?

I am so concerned with our country and the division. I still stand by my vote, which was for John Kerry. George W. Bush has a lot of work to do to change the way I feel. Putting him up on a billboard does not make him a better president. His actions speak louder than words.

I wonder if anyone else finds the president’s picture on a billboard odd? I’m sorry, but it reminds me of countries with dictators, and it seems people are making him out to be the messiah, the savior of our world.

Fear, fear, fear. I’m tired of being afraid.

It seems that liberalism is a mental disorder, Dianna.

I have a second hand account of why Daschle lost. The provider of this information was a young man who worked on "Tom's" campaign, as a paid staffer. He said that they lost in SD because of "morals"-not the far right Christians but everyday folks who were alread upset about abortion rights and when the gay marriage debate came up, well that was the last straw for them.

This staffer was really miffed because he said that his job was to get out the vote and he was very successful in getting new registrations but could not get them to show up at the polls..ha ha...he had worked for Kerry during the primary but was fired in one of the purges right after the primary.

BTW, Mr. D. absolutely loved the horseradish salad and told me not to lose the recipe, that it is a keeper...thanks again..

I'm so glad he liked it! At dinner on Thanksgiving Day a guest recognized it, informing us it used to be the signature dish at the now-defunct Driftwood Restaurant in Pensacola. Apparently it was quite the "in-place" in its heyday.

We instantly decided we would now call it "Driftwood Salad"...not quite so shocking to those who first hear the ingredients. LOL!

But I thought they liked Saddam. Thought he was better than democracy and liberty. Ah, more cognitive dissonance from the dims.

Some have observed that all these new voters means a much bigger jury pool. Oh, great! If you thought the O.J. jurists were dense, just wait till those the Dems registered in exchange for crack and cigarettes get called for jury duty. On the other hand, they may be afraid to show up at court, what with those outstanding warrants and all.

Texas gave up on voter registration rolls, and now just trolls through anyone with a Driver License to impanel a box of rocks...jury of your peers, indeed.

Thanks JL! I had given up trying to find stuff on the Slantnel website. These days it tells me my password is incorrect and won't let me start a new account, even BugMeNot passwords only work occasionally.

It's hard to see the words on the bottom, looks like Clear Channel is somehow facilitating the message but I can't make all of it out. Radio guy said it was funded by a Charles Clayton (the Clayton name is big in real estate around here, don't know if it would be the one). I drove by it twice today to try and read the message on the bottom but it's really hard to read lettering that small going 60mph during lunch rush traffic.

La Slantnel has been publishing some really, really stupid letters to the editor lately. One from Sunday before last quotes GWB as saying, "I don't believe in evolution. I don't!" As you can guess, GWB never said those words. However, when asked if he believed in evolution he said, "the jury is still out." A statement that an honest person would have to agree with, if the question was asked about the amoeba to human scenario. I like to tease my sweetie, the scientist, by saying, where's the missing link... huh, huh?! Until y'all come up with the evidence, it's still just a theory.

Must check last Sunday's letters, after the local dims have had Thanksgiving dinner with their conservative realitives there must be a treasure trove of nutty letters.

Yeah, heard it too. Glad Rush replays some of the important stuff, sometimes I miss what is said because of all the yelling. That would be my yelling at the numbskulls like Campolo.

It's interesting to watch how the lefties completely ignore "the works" that are done by those who identify themselves as republican. When someone like Campolo makes a statement so absurd it makes me wonder, does Campolo even understand he and his buddies telegraph their ignorance about Christianity?

Wouldn't you love to know what he and Blubba were laughing about at Ron Brown's funeral just before the sinkmeister saw the camera?

But I thought they liked Saddam.

Don't try to keep up with the nuttiness, it'll give you whiplash.

While searching for something else I came across commentary from a dim on how to rebuild their capacity to win elections and influence people.

It deserved a thread of it's own.

Principles for Progressives [Worried libs will "get it" anytime soon? Don't.]

That one cracked me up too!

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton today is visiting the biggest naval base on the East Coast as part of her role advising Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on making the military more efficient.

Rummy deserves a big raise AND a monument to his character erected in Washington DC.

Yea, do the tree. I'm trying to decide whether to put up lights. I need to find some college elves to rake up my leaves. It's been raining here for a solid week so I haven't been able to get that done.
