"I've got a question for everyone - but probably mostly the menfolk around here.........
How does one get rid of moles?"

There are mole "traps" you can purchase at Home Depot or Lowe's. You can place them in the soft spots of your yard and when the mole crawls below the trap it sets it off.

If you have the time, you can also use a pitchfork, which is my Dad's favorite method. When you see the ground move, a simple poke with pitchfork can stop them dead in their tracks.

Here at my house, I have a "Grand Canyon" of sorts. My female Beagle is obsessed with following every mole trail. She has caught 3 so far this year, but the yard really suffers. I may soon be able to start charging admission to see the "Grand Canyon of Kentucky".

Mole traps????? I've got enough trouble dealing with the mouse traps I have to set IN the house!!!!

I like your Dad's method.......but I've never seen the ground move!

We couldn't figure out why our 18 month old lab/chow and the 11 year old lab/chessie all of a sudden started digging holes in the yard again.........I think I've figured out why they were digging holes at this time last year. I had blamed it all on the puppy digging holes. We now know differently!!!!!

(note to stalker - I live in the country, insects and rodents are part of life)
