Bad day for a cat ping. I had to put Egbert out of her misery this moning. She was about 5 years old. My son was gathering eggs for his Grandfather when a tiny black and white kitten came out of the laying house on the egg belt. (She looked exactly like the giant cat that the girl is riding above.) He brought her home and she was hand raised on a bottle.

She was missing for a few days and came dragging herself home with severe internal injuries. I guess a dog or cayote mauled her.

Sorry to drag anyone else down but I'm bummed.........

You should be. Having a pet put down is so sad. We lost two Maine Coons within 6 months of each other two years ago and I still get teary when I think of them.

I know the feeling, it's tough.
I had to take my husband's old cat to be put down about 2 years ago (he was 16), and just last week I had to put down my 14 yr old collie.
But, since then we made a home for a 9 yr old cat whose owner is in chemotherapy and can't have pets (and you know most folks don't want an older animal), and I brought home a puppy from the humane society when I took my dog in.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. We had to put three cats down this year within two months, so I sympathize with your pain.

If your luck is like ours, you should have a "replacement" showing up on your doorstep in the near future. It never seems to fail.
